Online gaseous equation of state calculator.
We have just added this new gas equation of state
calculator.
In order to use the calculator, first choose the gas
you want to calcuatre.
Choose the dependent variable between pressure, volume, and temperature.
Enter the known variables. The calculator recalculates all results every
time you enter a value.
You may convert result units at any time, by clicking the unit drop down
boxes.
If you enter invalid or out of range data , zero values will be
displayed in one or more result textboxes.
Use the calculator to compare results between ideal,
Van der Waals and Dietrici gas equations..
Van der Waals solution for real gases is based on the
expression of the gaseous state equation as a power series expansion:
PV

= 1 + |
( |
b - |
a
RT |
) |

V |

b2 |

V2 |

The Boyle temperature for the van der Waals gas is :
-
and in the Dieterici case:
-
For most gases, the ratio Boyle / critical temperature is
consistently about 2.75 (except for He).
We have tested the calculator for both metric and
English units, and seems to work fine. Accuracy is adequate for the
majority of the applications. However, you should read the disclaimer
before using it.
