In the piping friction losses calculator there is a list of fittings and km values at the bottom. Are these km values intended to say: if I add a globe valve, that has the same effect on friciton losses as adding 10 km of pipe?
Do these values apply for any type of material or fluid? How can this be?
Is there a reference for this data that I would be able to get more information from?
I appreciate your assistance with my questions.
